P. Rupert Russell, Council Member (2016-2020)
Rupert Russell was appointed to the Town Council for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2016. He was previously a Council member from 2010 to 2014, and served as Mayor in FY 2012-2013. Rupert is also a board member of the Flood Mitigation League of Ross Valley and has been a strong advocate for flood control in the Ross Valley, since having been severely affected by the 2005 flood. Rupert loves the charm and beauty of Ross, has lived in Ross since 2000, and each of his two children spent nine years at the Ross School. He is an attorney, being a partner experienced in the field of corporate and securities law at the law firm of Shartsis Friese LLP in San Francisco, and his training and background have led him to be a strong believer in the importance of maintaining consistency, objectivity, and certainty, as well as seeking to treat all residents fairly and equally. Rupert was re-appointed to the Town Council in March 2018 for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2018.
