Welcome to the Public Works Department page. The Public Works Department oversees the management, maintenance and construction of public facilities and public rights-of-way. This includes oversight, management and supervision of private contractors who perform capital projects and maintenance on public streets, sidewalks, storm drains, street lights, traffic signals, signs and traffic markings, parks, trees, landscaping and public buildings.

Bob Hemati

Bob Hemati has lived in Marin County with his family since 1981. He has a Master of Science degree from UC Berkeley’s Civil Engineering department in Construction Engineering and Management. Bob is a registered civil engineer, licensed general contractor and LEED AP. He has worked for engineering, construction management, general contracting and real estate development firms as project manager/estimator, managing director and vice president of construction/project development. His projects have ranged from infrastructure, complex commercial, institutional and industrial to high-end and multi-residential.

Robert Maccario
Public Works Superintendent

Robert Maccario has been working for the Town of Ross since 1992. He is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upgrading of the town's infrastructure, streets, parks, right-of-ways, drainage systems, and watercourses. Robert is also the MCSTOPPP (Marin County Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program) representative for the Town of Ross.

Simone Jamotte started working for the Town of Ross in 1994. She assists the Public Works Director and the Building Official in issuing permits, business licenses and resale inspections.

Buzz Doughty began working for the Town of Ross’ Public Works Department as an independent contractor in 2002 and became a Town employee in 2006. He assists Public Works Superintendent Robert Maccario with the Town’s infrastructure, maintenance and repairs.
