Welcome to the Building Department page. The Building Department oversees all construction activities that fall under the Town of Ross' jurisdiction. Their primary responsibilities are issuing building permits, in-house plan checks, resale inspection, and building inspections on all construction projects (including building, plumbing, electrical, heating and pool) to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.

Bob Hemati has lived in Marin County with his family since 1981. He has a Master of Science degree from UC Berkeley’s Civil Engineering department in Construction Engineering and Management. Bob is a registered civil engineer, licensed general contractor and LEED AP. He has worked for engineering, construction management, general contracting and real estate development firms as project manager/estimator, managing director and vice president of construction/project development. His projects have ranged from infrastructure, complex commercial, institutional and industrial to high-end and multi-residential.

Simone Jamotte started working for the Town of Ross in 1994. She assists the Public Works Director and the Building Official in issuing permits, business licenses and resale inspections.

Robert Haggett has been the Building Inspector since 2002. Born and raised in San Francisco, he relocated to Marin County in 1995 to pursue a career in construction management. He has 20 years of construction experience and is an ICBO Certified Building Inspector.
